  • LDS Newsroom Commentary
The LDS church released a statement saying that the Associated Press was wrong for stating that Hardy was excommunicated for the Calendar. Why else was he excommunicated? According to the link above, you can not get excommunicated for being inactive.
  • Take Action: Ask Marriott to Get Rid of Porn
BYU has a building named after the famous Mormon billionaire Marriott family, though some of their wealth comes from selling pay-per-view hardcore pornography. It must be completely acceptable to be involved in conduct unbecoming a member of the Church if you are rich, famous and donate millions of $$$ to BYU and the LDS Church.
  • The Constitution— A Glorious Standard
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proudly teaches that the Constitution of the United States of America was divinely inspired by God. Yet the Church has taken every legal measure possible to ensure that the Constitution does not apply to the students and faculty at BYU.
  • The Divinely Inspired Constitution
"I have always felt that the United States Constitution’s closest approach to scriptural stature is in the phrasing of our Bill of Rights... I also see scriptural stature in the concept and wording of the freedoms of speech and press, the right to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures, the requirements that there must be probable cause for an arrest and that accused persons must have a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury, and the guarantee that a person will not be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law." -Elder Dallin H. Oaks Of the Quorum of the Twelve
  • Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness
"Lying and misrepresentation in all forms are wrong, no matter how they are rationalized, and those who silently let these evils pass unchallenged are also doing wrong. James explained, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17). On that basis, it is clear that when someone is slandered, or evil is spoken of someone, and we know an injustice has been done, we are morally and scripturally bound to step forward and defend the injured party. To keep silent in such circumstances is bearing false witness ourselves."
